 Can I run a bed and breakfast from my dwelling?
Yes, you may run a bed and breakfast from a commercial or residential parcel. A bed and breakfast on a residential parcel is permitted where food and beverages are available for sale and consumption by guests of the bed and breakfast. Please refer to the Eco-Guidelines for more details.
 Do I need a work permit?
You may need a work permit.  Please contact the appropriate Belize government agency for further details.
 Can I rent or lease my dwelling?
Yes, you may rent or lease your dwelling.
 What is the difference between residential and commercial parcels?
According the Eco-Guidelines...

Residential parcel owners may not conduct commercial business from their parcel. These parcels may be used as residences only. They may be rented or leased for all or part of the year. They may also be used as a bed and breakfast where food and beverages are available for sale and consumption by guests of the bed and breakfast. Also note, parcel owners may build up to 20% of the gross parcel square footage on residential parcels, plus additional 10% for porches, decks, patios, holding tanks for water storage, storerooms or other structures

Commercial parcels may be used as residences as well as for commercial purposes. Some examples include: eco or dive resort, bed & breakfast, eco-tour operator, market, bar, restaurant, fishing charter, boat rental (kayak, canoe, sailboat, rowboat, etc.), glass bottom boat tours, t-shirt and novelty shop, contractor, tool rental, storage unit, etc... Also note, you may build up to 50% of the gross parcel square footage on commercial parcels, plus additional 10% for porches, decks, patios, holding tanks for water storage, storerooms or other structures.

 Can I purchase a commercial parcel and conduct business at the location and live there as well?
Yes, you may conduct business and live on the same commercial parcel.
